Macron slams 'sleepwalkers' unconcerned by Ukraine war

French President Emmanuel Macron says "sleepwalkers" who think the war in Ukraine does not concern them are "preparing tomorrow's defeat", drawing a comparison with historical events at a ceremony marking the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Bormes-les-Mimosas during the Second World War. <br />European leaders said they would join Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in talks with U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday, as they try to find a way to end the conflict. <br />Macron, who will take part in the Washington meeting along with Von der Leyen and others, said European leaders would ask about the extent of the security guarantees offered to Ukraine in any peace agreement.
